Romeo’s Pizza, the award-winning franchise with 50 operating locations served at the St. Edward’s Farmers Market passing out slices of pizza on behalf of the Lakewood Community Services Center mobile pantry. Since March of 2020 the Lakewood Community Services Center has been delivering meals to over 40 families every day. Romeo’s is thrilled to have the opportunity to support LCSC and St. Edward by providing a meal to the community at the mobile pantry hosted at the St. Edward’s Farmers Market. We met so many great people and look forward to continuing efforts in the future.
“As someone who works in an industry where we provide for the community and our customers on a regular basis, it’s important to me to take the time to provide for the less fortunate as a Local Pizza Champion. Being a Local Pizza Champion means making a positive and measurable difference in the community we serve. Personally, for me and my team at the Kamm’s Corners Romeo’s Pizza, being a Local Pizza Champion means we believe in doing what we can to bring out the best in the people around us, our communities, and the environment, one slice at a time.” states Kyra Halloran, General Manager at Kamm’s Corners Romeo’s Pizza. “I hope this event positively impacts those we’ll be providing for and positively impacts my team, as it truly has been a joy to get this event set up! We’re very excited to be a part of this with Lakewood Community Services, Saint Ed’s, and the Farmer’s Market teams!”
About Lakewood Community Services Center – They provide assistance when it matters most, from food service to housing assistance, even as far as mental and behavioral health services. “The pandemic has presented challenges to our clients that none of us could have anticipated. We are grateful for the individual, community and government support that has enabled us to provide rental assistance to over 1,000 Lakewood residents so far and the ability to provide home food delivery to more than 2,000 people each month. We will be able to continue this support into the future as well. The mobile pantry is an event we are happy to bring back in partnership with St. Edward’s and the donation of pizza from Romeo’s will make a positive event even better.” Trish Rooney – Executive Director. About St. Edward’s Farmers Market – “Lakewood is our neighborhood and being an active and contributing part of our neighborhood is very important to St. Ed’s. That’s why it’s so great that we are able to work together with our neighbors at LCSC to offer this monthly fresh produce distribution, and to provide fresh food for our neighbors in need. Having Romeo’s join us this month made a great community event even stronger!” Liam Haggerty – VP, Mission Effectiveness. Learn more about St. Ed’s https://www.sehs.net/.
